For Lindsey, building trails is a way of creating an outlet for people to enjoy themselves and be more physically active and healthier outdoors. Having grown up riding a bike on the notoriously technical, mountainous trails around Harrisonburg, Virginia, many of which were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), Lindsey brings years of firsthand trail user experience and perspective to the Dirt Artisans team, which she joined in 2017. Her trailbuilding days are filled with a variety of hands-on tasks. She clears trail corridors by removing tree branches, vines and laurel; uses a rake, hoe and McCloud to smooth out dirt after the machine operators are done; finishes rock work; and helps build wooden bridges over waterways and wet spots.
An avid, life-long cyclist with top-five finishes in the pro category at the national championships, Lindsey loves doing all kinds of competitive cycling events, including endurance gravel and mountain biking, stage races, cross country mountain biking and enduros, and she serves as a Brand Ambassador for Salsa Cycles and Zoic Clothing. She’s also fallen in love with trail running as another way to explore the forest. Among her other interests are fishing, cooking and spending time with her boyfriend Sam and their doggie Luna.
